Proposal Development

Friendly Amendment Definition

Friendly amendments are amendments that are perceived by all parties as an enhancement to the original proposal wording. Friendly amendments do not change the intent of the proposal. In the WeDecide Workshop, members can submit friendly amendments to proposals by using the comment feature.

At the General Meeting, where the Green Rules of Procedure are followed, a friendly amendment is defined as: Amendments proposed in agreement with the proposal submitter, or designate, and moved after the original motion has been presented.
