Changes at "G23-P018 On Nuclear Power"

Proposal text

Be it resolved that the Green Party of Canada

• will adopt a view of nuclear power that is consistent with the best scientific knowledge and practices, and

• will advocate for the continued exploration of nuclear power technologies, including SMR manufacturing technologies, and alternative fuels such as thorium, and

• will advocate for the overhaul of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, including its replacement with a regulatory environment that encourages rather than stifles the introduction of new nuclear capacity, nevertheless with a continued emphasis on safety.

- adoptera un point de vue sur l'énergie nucléaire qui est conforme aux meilleures connaissances et pratiques scientifiques, et

- préconisera l'exploration continue des technologies de l'énergie nucléaire, y compris les technologies de fabrication de SMR, et des combustibles de remplacement comme le thorium, et

- plaidera pour la refonte de la Commission canadienne de sûreté nucléaire, y compris son remplacement par un environnement réglementaire qui encourage plutôt que d'étouffer l'introduction de nouvelles capacités nucléaires, tout en continuant à mettre l'accent sur la sûreté.
