The Policy Development Process Committee moves proposals to (2) Workshop in preparation for online workshops. Workshops do not make final decisions. They aim to:
Individual members may continue to suggest wording changes. Electoral District Associations and Regional Associations are encouraged to hold local workshops and submit proposed wording changes.
The submitter accepts or rejects the proposed wording changes. If a submitter rejects the proposed wording changes, a rationale should be posted in the Add Your Comment section at the bottom of the proposed change card. Failure to address pending proposed changes and/or posting a rejection rationale will delay the proposal moving forward to (3) Vote.
If a member strongly opposes the intent or wording of a proposal (e.g. rejected wording changes), they can submit a dissenting opinion by completing the online dissent form on the Submit Dissent tab. Dissenting opinions will be posted as a file on the appropriate proposal card in the (3) Vote tab.
Once a policy proposal has completed workshopping, and all proposed changes have been addressed, the submitter emails the proposal shepherds indicating that the policy statement’s wording has been finalized. The proposal is ready to move to (3) Vote in preparation for an all-member vote.
Once a governance proposal has completed workshopping, and all proposed changes have been addressed, the submitter confirms the finalized wording with proposal shepherds. The governance proposal is ready to move to the GM webpage 60 days before the GM.
