G21-D002 Centre and Empower Survivors in GPC Decision-Making

This proposal was discussed in the workshop during Phase 2 of the VGM. However, there was not enough time for this proposal to be voted on in plenary by the members during Phase 2. Therefore, this proposal will not be included in the ratification vote.
Proposal
This motion directs Council to initiate a truth and reconciliation process for survivors who engage with the GPC, in order to build trust with members and to develop recommendations that will make GPC decision-making more survivor-centred.
Objective
This motion is designed to end enduring anti-survivor shame and ensure that the GPC operates in a manner that empowers survivors.
Benefit
This proposal will build trust with members and ensure that GPC decisions are grounded in a survivor-centred approach.
