In order to to improve the functional capacity of EDAs to deliver on their mandate, direct staff to identify established, revive dormant or create new EDAs to:

  • conduct a participatory assessment of the “Get Organized” toolbox

  • identify additional or updated guides, tools, workshops

  • support lessons-learned sessions and peer-to-peer support mechanisms

Objective

The objective of this directive to Council is to dramatically expand the number of EDAs and strengthen EDAs’ capacity to organize, build effective, transparent and accountable local organizations capable of organizing membership drives and outreach, fundraising and attracting and supporting the election of capable progressive Green candidates to Parliament.

Benefit

Creating active, open and effective local EDAs will promote Green Party values and policies, generate credibility, expand membership and raise funds. Strong EDAs, our grassroots, are essential to electing more Green Members of Parliament by organizing membership outreach and fundraising, attracting and supporting the election of capable, progressive candidates.
