September 2

Avatar: Sarah Gabrielle Baron Sarah Gabrielle Baron

September 2, 2022. What a day! Quelle journée! I was working on a document, wishing I didn't have to, so I could just focus on calling members. I have a problem. I love knocking on doors. I love calling Greens. I love campaigning. Maybe it's genetic. Politics does run in my family.

I had a great interview with a journalist, Lori Thompson, from the small town independent newspaper, The Manitoulin Expositor, from my home on Manitoulin Island.

So, just as I was about to get back into the document, and share said document with some trusted Green friends for their feedback, the fire alarm went off!

Went out for lunch with my small but very AWESOME campaign team, then had a snap interview for Politico.

I Learned how to get into Decidem with the amazing team running this innovate race, and here we are. Blog number one!

Off to YukYuks with some new friends from the Ottawa Green family. They've been so friendly and supportive! Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to do any fundraising or phone calling today, but hopefully I'll pick your phone number out of the giant list tomorrow!

By the way, the Ottawa Pride Parade was the most uplifting experience of my political career. We were staged ahead of the Liberals. They had to watch our giant green flag with the massive world ball flying in the air the whole time. The crowds cheered like crazy for us. That's the energy Greens bring to the political arena: fun, joyful, collective. Huge kudos to Phoebe Cullingham and the whole team of Ottawa Centre Greens and the other EDAs from this region. They are meeting regionally, supporting each others events, collaborating on events, and sharing best practices. That's a key to making our Party strong in between elections.

Keepin it Green!
