It would be handy to be able to schedule the Omnipresent banner to announce maintenance windows that occur during automatically scheduled updates (e.g. for 30 minutes before a scheduled system update at 5am ET).
This could also be used for events, to increase interest by having omnipresent announcements show up 1-2 hours before an important event.
EDIT: Ask Platoniq is this is achievable using a Cron script.
